THE IMPACT OF R&B ON OUR LIVES

Let me start with my life.  This music is like vitamins to my soul.  I eat with it, sleep with it, and work with it every day.  There's nothing like it.   It is simply great!

Also, the lyrics in some of this music is very creative!  

For example observe the lyrics in music producer Smokey Robinson's

"Tracks of My Tears"

"People say I'm the life of a party because I tell a joke or two.  Although I may be laughing loud and hardy, deep inside I'm blue.  So take a good look at my face.  If you look closer it's easy to trace the tracks of my tears."

And examine this lyric from a Temptations' classic R&B track called

"It's Growing"

Like a snowball rolling down a snow covered hill, it's growing.  Like the size of the fish that the man claims broke his reel, it's growing.  Like the rose bud blooming in the warmth of the summer sun, it's growing.  Like the tale by the time it's been told by more than one, it's growing.

Every day it grows a little more than it was the day before.  My love for you just grows and grows.  Oh, how it grows and grows.  And where it's going to stop I'm sure, nobody knows.
